I had painted my Pacific Australian force a few years back and needed some early and late war air support for the force. Axis and Allies has some different version of the Brewster Buffalo. One is in Aussie early war garb, so I picked these up.

These planes are pretty well done, but I wanted to do a little more work. I hit the green with a highlight and then did a pin wash on the control surfaces. I brighten up the white and darkened the blue on the roundels and tail markings. I then painted the engine, wheels and spinner black. Next was the cockpit. This one was a chore, as the caging is quite substantial! I started with the glass and painted all the panels contrast blue. Next, I pulled out some earth and did the cage work.

Unfortunately, looking at different photos of the actual planes, I saw they had different squadron markings. So, I had to add a few small decals. I had ordered a number of decal sets to add to my various planes some time back, so I pulled those out and got out the numbers I needed and added them. Once those dried and set, it was time for a bit of Krylon mat pray. I finished up with the gloss varnish painted on the glass panels (once again, a bit of a pain). With that, my Aussies have some air cover!
